João Cordeiro

I’ve always been passionate about theatre and the way costume creates meaning in a plays whilst still harmonising with other scenic elements on stage. However, professionally, I`ve only been developing my passion for costumes when I started my first year at Hull University studying for my BA Drama and theater practice degree. Through my time at university I have developed my skills set both as a designer and maker when I first started my role as a costume assistant and dresser. Since then I have developed other roles  within costume such as supervisor, millinery and make-up. As I continued my second and third year my primary research interest started to develop around Victorian and early Edwardian period wear, however I've confidently created costumes from Elizabethan, to modern and fantasy style costumes
